elpa-geiser software package provides enhanced Scheme interaction mode for Emacs, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install elpa-geiser
elpa-geiser is installed in your system.
Make ensure the elpa-geiser package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep elpa-geiser *
You will get with elpa-geiser package name, version, architecture and description in a table
